The only problem with what you're trying to do is that Ableton Live has to stop that clip within the global quantization because only one clip can be playing at any given time on a track. If you were able to set the stop quantization for that track to be on the 8th bar, then if you had a clip on the same track under it that you wanted to start on your 1 bar global quantize, it would conflict.

Mainly what I'm saying, is that to my knowledge you have to do what you're wanting to do manually.

I have an 8 bar clip. I want to make sure it always plays to the end, no matter when I stop it or select another clip.

I have set the launch quantization for that clip to 8, and that works for launching. It only launches on the 8s. However, it does not stop on the 8s. It stops on the next bar because my global launch quantize is at 1.

The only way I can figure out how to do this is to set the global launch quantization to 8, but I don't want that for the rest of the clips in the track..

And, I don't want one-shot. I want it to repeat.

Any ideas?
