I have a BCF 2000....I like it...it does a great job with Ableton.

Behringer is notorious for functional gear that falls apart pretty fast. Usually they are knockoffs of more pricey gear. They work well for as long as they are able to but are subject to wear and tear in a terrible way. Of course this is all in my distant experience with their mixers and not this particular hardware item, so check it out. If the price is right and it does what you want it to, get it. If you can, get it at Guitar Center and buy a two year warranty (or one year) and make sure it becomes defective (you may not need any help there w/ behringer). That's how I buy all of my semi-disposable gear like headphones. Good luck.

have the BCD 3000. pretty sweet. indeed, great sound, minimal gain loss. awesome midi response (no latency at all). but its WEAK. when I first plugged it in two diodes blew up. then I fixed it and it worked perfect...

save your money and buy something solid. I heard the hercules mk2 is pretty darn good but that is more DJ oriented.
