Does anyone know the answer to this?
I have some Cure midi files that I've downloaded and have been messing with in Ableton and Logic and there's some kind of patch change (or control change?) info embedded in the files so everytime it's triggered from the beginning it switches the synth patch back to some default preset.
What is this called and how would I disable/modify it?
I doubt that Ableton would be capable of this but maybe how is it done in logic?

Re: Midi files keep changing my patch?
Sun, August 31, 2008 - 11:54 PMActually I just found this little article which helped me out with the subject in logic:
jeaninecowen.berkleemusicblogs.com/2008/07/28/using-standard-midi-files-in-a-sequencer/
In Live I wonder if there's any way though?
Perhaps through the clip control drop down list or something? -

Re: Midi files keep changing my patch?
Wed, September 3, 2008 - 2:42 PMYou need to filter out the program change... You can apply a midi filter to any input with a good external midi app.
Program Change is a certain CC# which can just be deleted out of your clip.... I believe.
