Re: not recognizing my files
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 6:30 PMIf you're talking about Live LE I'm fairly certain it does not import mp3 files. You need the full version. I wasn't aware it allowed importing m4a files, I thought that was full version only as well. -

Re: not recognizing my files
Wed, March 5, 2008 - 9:09 AMYa, that free Live 6 was probably the LE or lite version as Rev said which will have limited functionality and sounds like it's not sourcing your files from Live 5. If the different versions of Live have different libraries, that also might be the issue. Hard to say for sure without more info from you. Just buy the upgrade either from 5 to 6 or from 6 LE to 6 full. I highly recommend just going to Live 7 if you are able, but go with your most economical solution. -

Re: not recognizing my files
Sat, March 8, 2008 - 4:59 PMGood point there, Saro....but, if you are not really ready to spend the bucks just yet and...what the hell....your new mac has a pretty HUGE hard drive just go into I-tunes and convert your m4a files to aiff and see what happens. Try it with one or two before you convert your whole library. Another thing you really want to look into is getting a separate firewire drive to stream your loops from....try to find one that has an Oxford 911 chipset. That is optimized for audio production. www.pacificproaudio.com has some of these drives that will fit just about any budget. When you start running anything over about 16 tracks and plugs your mac will really appreciate you for doing it.
