hi,
i am doing one little party and am always told i should be a dj just for my musical taste and ability to pick songs... i dont want to be lame at this party so want to use ableton and my laptop. so i was reading the user manual and it says to cue, you need atleast 2 stereo outputs on an audio interface. i need to buy one but dont want to spend a bunch of money. can someone point me in the right direction? i have a powerbook g4 but i only have a 550mhz processor so that limits me because even the m-audio x-session requires a 667mhz processor.
do i really need two stereo outs or can i have one stereo for connecting to the sound system and one mono out for my headphones?
sigh... if only i could get my girlfriend to buy me a new macbook pro...
thanks for the help!

Re: newbie- audio interface
Tue, February 26, 2008 - 10:04 PMThe Echo Indigo DJ is the PCIMA card you would be looking for. It works in your cardbus slot. It has a "monitor out" for your headphones and a "mix out" for the system. I am not sure what its processor requirements are but, it was fairly prominent 3 or so years ago....you may be able to find one used even.
