Re: nativeKontrol
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 11:41 AMLooks pretty slick actually. I've not tried it, but I can see some obvious advantages for live performance. I'd say, for $30-40, it's worth a try. The only thing that would make me hesitate would be having to learn the set-up. I have to play with things like this for hours to learn and commit to memory the functions it offers and I rarely find myself using full features. -

Wed, April 23, 2008 - 1:58 PMI hear you on the whole "learning the functions" thing, sAro...nice thing about this template though, you can bring up an image (from the padKontrol no less) that has all the functions labeled. :)
I've been using Live as a production tool and not a performance tool. As I get more into it (only been using it for a year now) I'm seeing how I need to change my production style to make a Live show possible and more importantly interesting. I'm thinking a pre-built template like this will bridge the gap quite a bit. Sure, it's a learning experience to become proficient with it, but at least I don't have to figure out how to setup all the control stuff myself :)
And controlling the mouse from a MIDI controller? Too fucking cool!

Wed, April 23, 2008 - 12:08 PMThat's pretty awesome. I hope they come out with a similar software for the Akai MPD's. -

Wed, April 23, 2008 - 2:59 PMI totally agree. I'm not sure if it's Mac compatible, I'll go back and look. The demo was on a PC. Still, $40 for the full featured version seems like a great deal.
