Trigger Finger Toggle On/Off?

Hey Folks,
Does anyone using a Trigger Finger know how I can make a pad trigger a sample or song and set the same pad to send start and stop info? If I hit the pad it just starts the song, but I'd also like that same pad to stop the song. I've been googling it trying to find a good answer for a bit to no avail! I've downloaded Enigma if that helps. Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Ian

I haven't done this but I've thought about it, with both the trigger finger and the mpd24 I've used two pads and I thought it would be intriguing to use just one.

I think the most straightforward way of doing it would be to have start triggered by a velocity range and stop by another. Say for example you hit it softly to start, with a velocity of 0 - 64, then harder to stop, 65-127. I'm pretty sure (well... as sure as someone can be without bothering to actually check) that pads can't be programmed for note on/note off. That would be the other solution.

I'm going to do some digging on this over the weekend because I've wanted to do the same thing. Hopefully someone will have a quick answer ("Zed's a crackhead" is not an answer, kids) and we'll both have a solution, otherwise let's both post the fruits of our research.

Here's the solution....it's so simple I'm embarrassed I didn't figure it out myself. For setting a pad to trigger an audio clip both on and off it wasn't an issue of entering MIDI CC data on the trigger finger. What you need to do is in Ableton, select the clip, highlight "launch mode' in the lower left corner and set it to toggle. I'm such a noob. Perfect now.

Thanks for the answers though. I'm sure setting toggle up for effects will be the next item on the agenda and that should help.

With all the things I have to learn, you'll all be getting silly questions from me for some time to come! Thanks again for the help.

    Cheers,
    Ian

D'OH! I should have been able to suss that off the top of my head, I do that for my live p.a. sets... *hangs head*. Effect plugins toggle on/off by default, you should be good

I'm going to go ahead and apologize in advance, if history is my guide I'll be attacking you later for asking n00b questions. I will likely question the legitimacy of your copy of Live, the platform you have it running on, your choice of audio interfaces - pretty much everything. Once I run out of technical "justification", I will question your parentage, clothing choices, and selection of sexual partners. I will likely avoid religion and politics. Eventually when the dust settles Craig will likely refer to me as some sort of harmless asshole, and I will be helpful for a couple weeks- uh... days.

      *cough*
